In a thrilling encounter at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas, the United States pulled off a stunning upset against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2024. The match went down to the wire, with both teams locked in a tie after the regulation 20 overs.

Pakistan, after being put in to bat first, managed to post a competitive total of 159 for 7, courtesy of a resilient 44-run knock by Babar Azam and a crucial 72-run partnership between him and Shadab Khan. Shaheen Afridi’s late cameo of 23 not out further bolstered Pakistan’s innings. Nosthush Kenjige was the standout bowler for the United States, claiming figures of 3 for 30 in his four overs.

In the Super Over, the United States set a target of 19 runs for Pakistan, who fell short and managed only 13 runs, handing the Americans a thrilling victory by 5 runs in the Super Over.
